SWISS CHARD

Easy Swiss Chard Recipe

  • Prep time: a few minutes
  • Prepare time: fifteen minutes
  • Yield: Serves 2-4 (with respect to the quantity of chard)
The coriander seeds are optional because not everybody has them within their spice rack. However if you simply do, please rely on them! Coriander is wonderful with chard.
  • 1 large couple of fresh Swiss chard
  • two tablespoons extra virgin essential olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic clove, sliced
  • Pinch of dried crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of whole coriander seeds (optional)
1 Prep the chard stalks leaving: Wash it out the Swiss chard leaves completely. Either tear or cut away the thick stalks in the leaves.
Cut the stalk pieces into 1-inch pieces. Chop the leaves into inch-wide strips. Keep your stalks leaving separate.
2 Saut garlic clove and crushed red pepper flakes: Heat the essential olive oil inside a saut pan on medium high temperature. Add garlic clove slices, crushed red pepper, and coriander seeds (if using), and prepare for around thirty seconds, or before the garlic clove is aromatic.
3 Add Swiss chard stalks: Add some chopped Swiss chard stalks. Lower heat to low, cover and prepare for three or four minutes.
4 Add some chopped leaves: Add some chopped chard leaves, toss using the oil and garlic clove within the pan. Cover and prepare for three or four more minutes. Turn the leaves and also the stalks in the pan.
When the chard still needs a little more cooking (remove a bit and taste it), cover and prepare a couple of more minutes.
